Given that UniMAC-GIL is situated very close to KsTU, the completion of the police post will significantly contribute to the security and safety of not only KsTU's students and staff but also, those of UniMAC-GIL.
As a gesture of collaboration, UniMAC-GIL presented a cheque of GH¢ 12,100 to KsTU to facilitate the realisation of this vital security initiative. The Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to UniMAC-GIL for their invaluable support. He commended them for the prompt response to the request made by the Security Committee and providing the full amount requested. Prof. Dwomoh emphasised the significance of collaboration between the two institutions, expressing KsTU's eagerness to work closely with UniMAC-GIL in various initiatives, including language immersion programmes.
In her remarks, Mrs. Angelina Ofei Ayim expressed her excitement at the spirit of collaboration demonstrated by KsTU, emphasising the importance of working together on mutual interests. The support symbolises not only a financial contribution but also, a commitment to fostering a safe and conducive environment for students and staff.
Prof. Alfred Owusu who is the Chairman of the Security Committee and Director of Planning and Quality Assurance at KsTU commended UniMAC-GIL for their effort. He lauded them for being the first to fulfill their pledge and emphasised the importance of such partnerships in fostering a safer campus environment.
The establishment of the police post will serve as a dedicated space for security officers to ensure swift and effective response to any security concern that may arise within the precinct of the two campuses and their immediate environs. This initiative underscores the commitment of both KsTU and UniMAC-GIL towards safeguarding the well-being of their respective academic communities.
As the project moves forward, both institutions are hopeful that this collaborative effort will set a precedent for further cooperation in addressing shared challenges and promoting a secure and conducive learning environment for all.
