On the 20th of April 2023, Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) had the pleasure of hosting a three-member delegation from VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Belgium. The delegation included Dr. Johan Cottyn, Ms. Joke Calcoen, and Mr. Tom Vanm Benerdeen.
Prof. Gabriel Dwomoh, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of KsTU, gave the purpose of the gathering. He thanked the delegation from VIVES for the visit and emphasized the importance of collaboration between institutions for academic excellence and innovation.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions and explore potential collaborations in research, education, and other areas. The delegation from VIVES University met with the Deans, Directors, and Heads of Departments at the council chamber of the Univrsity. During the meeting, the delegation from VIVES University made informative presentations on various topics related to their areas of expertise. Dr. Johan Cottyn presented on "Technology for Sustainable Development", highlighting the importance of technology in promoting sustainable development. He discussed the various ways in which technology can be used to promote sustainable development, including renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture.
Ms. Joke Calcoen's presentation focused on "Entrepreneurship and Innovation". She emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in promoting economic growth and development.
